News on Dreamy Neil Gaiman's blog (according to a friend!) that Michael Moorcock's booksigning in Charing Cross next week will also feature Alan Moore. This instantly changes it from 'bothered' to 'counting the minutes'. I've got a bunch of Moore's spoken word (-ish) albums, and he's got a great speaking voice. Plus of course he's mad, and brilliant, and interesting.

There was a man in Piccadilly Circus tube station on Saturday, playing the Pink Panther tune on a saxophone. It wasn't a tune that I'd previously thought of as something you could play on a musical instrument - where would the cartoon visuals come from?

As I walked away he was accompanying the Crazy Frog on Alex F, and all was well with the world.

For [livejournal.com profile] katstevens and [livejournal.com profile] the_roofdog, and possibly [livejournal.com profile] atommickbrane (who may have heard it a while back), here's Silence The Musical. You can find the songs on there if you poke around, though you might want to start with Quid Pro Quo

And finally, a pre-poll poll. Everyone should know Singstar, karaoke science for the playstation. If there was a Singstar Indie, what songs do you think you could best bellow/whine at in time with the original? A few to start with: The Smiths - Panic, The Wedding Present - Kennedy, Belle & Sebastian - The Boy with An Arab Strap, Violent Femmes - Blister In The Sun. Fill in the rest in the comment box! More than one track per artist permitted, I will do an massive poll to determine which ones will actually win, after which the results will... do nothing.

(Yes, I'm aware that Singstar Nindie is the worst idea in forever. Now answer the question!)
